いつか、私にも人生の終わりというものが来ます。私は箱に入れられ、教会の前のちょうどそのあたりに安置されるでしょう。周りには人が集まって、泣いている人もいるかもしれません。ただ、これまで言ってきたように、そうしないでいただきたい。皆さんに泣いてほしくないのです。告別式は、頌栄（三位一体の神をたたえ、神に栄光を帰する歌）で始めて、ハレルヤコーラスで締めくくってください。私はそこにはいないし、死んでなんていないのですから。私は、今まで生きてきたどの時よりも生き生きとしていて、かわいそうな皆さんを上から眺めています。死にゆく世界にとどまっている皆さんは、生ける世界にいる私のもとにはまだ来ることができません。そして私は、私自身も、だれも経験したことがないほどの健康と、活力と、喜びにあふれ、いついつまでも生き続けるのです。

Now, I know that someday I am going to come to what some will say is the end of this life. They will probably put me in a box and roll me right down here in front of the church, and some people will gather around, and a few people will cry. But I have told them not to do that because I don’t want them to cry. I want them to begin the service with the Doxology and end with the Hallelujah chorus, because I am not going to be there, and I am not going to be dead. I will be more alive than I have ever been in my life, and I will be looking down upon you poor people who are still in the land of dying and have not yet joined me in the land of living. And I will be alive forevermore, in greater health and vitality and joy than ever, ever, I or anyone has known before.
